Halfway through January already. How time flys. Somewhere I read: "life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer you get to the roll, the faster it goes". Aint that the truth.
Well, below is the weekend shot at the eminis and tides. If you believe it, and sometimes its hard I admit, we are looking at a tidal bottom last friday. Could it be we've seen the low down below 1130 on friday already? As always, time will tell.
Hydro Project 2 may be shelved for the time being. I did a flow check yesterday and it was not encouraging. Apparently we seem to be drying up for some unknown reason and I would not like to have water flow shutoff by mother nature and have the system just go on vacation for months. So, more study is needed....in the meantime, I'll be posting some calcs to determine possible energy production based on some assumptions going forward. As you might know, the really nice thing about small hydro is that, given adequate constant flow, it runs 24-7 and does not shut down when the sun doesnt shine or wind doesnt blow....but, you gotta have water.

Thanks for your posting, mOOrso. I think we will always have to struggle with the fact that after a tidal downswing concludes and the market falling accordingly the bears are out and roaring full force. The blogs, the "traders" and "market experts" at CNBC and magazines are all shouting "strong sell" or "important top" etc. At least I struggle with this even if I put in my trades more or less mechanically, like taking out the hedges friday COB.

i am watching/hoping to see if calendar day 2/7/10 shows up as a strong tidal high.
that is my best candidate, atsn and fwiw, for a major swing tradable high off of 3/6. i am ready to unload this creaking wagon of longs i have had from the buying i did from 10/10/08 to 3/6/09.
a nice melt-up finish would be tasty!
:)
Hey, very cool and unique blog, I'm definetely going to follow it.
You should definetely read up on cycles. It would be a second confirmation to your signals, i.e the 4-year presidential cycles, the seasonal cycles, etc...
GL, and hope to hear from you .

looks like we are getting an inversion for 1/22 date.
yep, looks that way at this point.
although it was an inversion, the tidal date was very helpful nevertheless; and i thank you for it. here is a link to my argument for 1/22/10 being a major low, fwiw. the high gravity date is listed:

3/19/10 as a major high is now blinking brightly on the radar. i look forward to seeing if it appears on yours.
